Gathered (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a Bible reading and prayer app designed for small groups. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use the Gathered mobile app and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

Group & User Content. When you use Gathered, we store content you create, including:

Device & Notification Information. If you enable push notifications, we collect a device push token so we can send alerts when members of your group post prayers or respond with notes. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

Technical Information. We use Firebase (Google) to operate authentication, data storage, and cloud functions. Firebase may process standard technical information such as IP address, device identifiers, and app usage data necessary to provide the Service securely.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of personal information beyond what you voluntarily submit as prayer or reading content.

4. How Information Is Shared

Within Your Group. Content you post—readings, prayers, reactions, and notes—is visible to other members of your group.

Service Providers. We use trusted third-party providers to operate Gathered, including Google Firebase (authentication, database, cloud functions, and push notification delivery). These providers process data on our behalf only to deliver the Service.

Legal Requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the Service.

We do not share your information with advertisers.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate security purposes.

We use industry-standard safeguards through Firebase, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls. Only authenticated members of a group can access that group’s readings and prayers.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and keep your device secure.

8. Children’s Privacy

Gathered is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

9. International Users

Your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using Gathered, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of Gathered after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
